Why is it that one person from the House (Speaker of the House) and 1 person from the Senate (Senate Majority Leader) get to pick and choose what bills are voted on. I think its BS since our government wasnt designed for 1 person to make decisions. Basically the only bills that get to be voted on are ones that the lead person agrees with and thinks is a good bill and that's bullshit. Im pretty sure it wasnt that way in the late 1700s. The way it should be is any member of congress should be able to write and introduce a bill to be voted on.
Also, Im sick and tired of seeing bills with totally unrelated amendments tacked on as a bribe to get enough votes to pass. By law a bill is supposed to have only 1 topic. They shouldnt be adding a farm subsidy to a bill about minimum sentencing guidelines for murder or something. Its more bullshit
