With recent events in the game, such as the Zandalari leaders being killed within the Throne of Thunder, where else would the races have to go now? This is assuming with these Elders dead that the Zandalari threat is no more. We also see that Vol'jin is becoming a more likely candidate to replace Garrosh, maybe seeing that a Troll is in power of the Horde members of the now broken Troll tribes will be more willing to join the Horde under Vol'jins leadership.
The Dark Iron, Wildhammer, and possibly Frostborn are a little be easier to introduce into the Alliance. We see that in the coming patch (5.3) that Varian requests the help of the Council of Three Hammers to aid him in eliminating the Troll threat in Dun Morogh. The Bronzebeards and Wildhammer Clans both express their distrust of the Dark Iron clan and refuse to help Varian in fear that the Dark Irons will take advantage of their brief hole in defense. This is when Moria steps up and tells Varian she will send the Dark Irons to assist the Alliance, this surprises Muradin and Falstad, but they no doubt still don't trust the Dark Irons. Now I want to be optimistic and say that Moria really does have the intention to bring peace to the Dwarves and so she sees this as an opportunity to prove her peoples loyalty to the Alliance.
I'm probably getting ahead of myself here, but with the confirmation that new models are coming and new lore that may be putting these conflicts to rest, at least for now, I don't think it's entirely impossible to think that Blizzard may take advantage of this and introduce a little more variety to the old races.
Thoughts?
(I'm in no way a lore expert, if there is any detail I'm missing or have gotten incorrect please feel free to correct me)
