Hey all, I have recently decided to build my first PC and I'm not sure of exactly how I should go about it (computer parts).
I plan to use the desktop mainly for gaming on high/ultra (WoW, SC2, Battlefield, etc), streaming, and watching videos. I'm looking for something that can run at least 4-5 years, if at all possible. I have a budget of around $1800.
The parts that I'm considering are the following:
Intel Core i7 3820 3.6GHz LGA 2011 Boxed Processor ($230)
Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 X79 ATX Intel Motherboard ($250)
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680+ 4GB GDDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort ($550)
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600 PC3-12800) ($100)
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive ST3100005N1A1AS ($75)
Corsair CX Series CX750M 750 Watt ATX Modular Power Supply ($90)
Cooler Master CM Storm Trooper Full Tower ATX Gaming Computer Case ($170)
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Zx PCSound Card with Accessible Audio Control Module ($150)
Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE SATA DVD-RW Burner ($17)
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit OEM ($100)
I'm mainly concerned with the compatibility of these parts, and what type of cooling system would be able to sufficiently keep the internal temperatures as low as possible (prefer some type of air cooling since water cooling supposedly voids warranties). I'm also unsure of what else may be needed to successfully build an operational computer so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
