Sound Deadening Foam

Hello everyone, I recently moved my stuff into our basement. Like my couch, my computer, TV with surroundsound all that stuff.

Well heres my problem. the section of the basement im using is right below my wife and I's bedroom, so as you can imagine she can hear everything, Which isnt bad because im a Faithful Husband but the problem is when im up in the middle of the night screaming "kill that F'in B-turd" Yea she dont wanna hear that. But my real problem is that my TV is down here to. And she can hear that. Even if i turn it down. Before in the living room the volume used to always be at 25 and you could hear it just fine about 10-15 feet away no problem, wasnt to loud or anything. I literally have to turn the tv down to 5-8 and she can STILL hear it. and I have to be a inch away from the tv to hear it at that... It just goes right into her room. Also my basement is a typical Michigan Basement, All cement walls, all cement floors, no dry way. Just some carpet I just bought.

So my question is this to anyone who may know.

Can I buy some sound deadening foam and put it up on the walls around my stuff would it make a difference?

If so do I have to cover the entire wall in the stuff?
