So I raided a little bit in original WoW, not much though - never did Naxx 40, just did ZG/MC/BWL and some AQ40. In TBC I raided everything, I raided without a break the entire TBC from Karazhan all the way to Sunwell/ZA. My last raiding times was in early WOTLK, my guild got all the server firsts for Naxx/Malygos and Satharion.
My guild steam-rolled through TBC content (besides Muru...that almost killed our guild) so doing the early WOTLK content was pretty easy. So then Ulduar came along and this is what made me quit the game. I loved ulduar don't get me wrong, but the way they approached it with a lot of "hard-modes" is what got to me.
After we had been wiping on Yogg + 0 keepers hardmode for a few weeks, after all these other random guilds were killing it on normal every reset. I realised....wait a second? Why the hell am I spending all this time, wiping on a boss I've already killed AND while all these other no-name guilds are killing Yogg? they might be doing it on an easier version of yogg..but still theyre killing yogg! I suddenly had a massive epiphany. After one of the wipe-nights of yogg+0 I told my guild (after non-stop raiding for almost 3 years) that I was done with the game and when people asked me why? My answer was simple. I don't want to spend hours and hours, days and days, weeks and weeks, wiping on a boss, that I've already killed, and that no-name guilds are killing on an easier mode every week, while we spend all this time wiping on the same boss.....who just so happens to be on a harder mode.
So I quit WoW from then until Cataclysm. Since Cataclysm hit all I've done is Arena and RBG. But I am feeling like I want to raid again, maybe in 4.3 or maybe next expansion.
Since you now know why I quit raiding to begin with, and I took a MASSIVELY long break from WoW overall. How do you think it's best I approach getting back into the whole raiding scene, and most of all...do you think I'd even want to get back into it? considering the reason I quit to begin with.
